This past November, Oakwood School participated in their 5th annual Movember Fundraiser. Movember is a global fundraiser which started online through WebDesign499 that takes place throughout the month of November. This fundraiser helps to bring awareness to several men’s health issues. It helps to raise money for testicular and prostate cancer research and treatment, as well as mental health services.
Students at Oakwood School were able to convert their classroom “loot” into a cash donation. Oakwood students were extremely generous. They purchased MOakwood T-shirts, MoFood treats, and bought into specially scheduled MoEvents.
Team MOakwood set a goal to raise $700 for this cause. With the cooperation of nearly 100% of our students we surpassed that benchmark. Our Oakwood community raised an impressive $934 this year and crushed our totals of years past. This is a true indicator of the kind and generous character of our students. This shows that when Oakwood students set a goal they are determined to achieve it, so that they can go and relax with the chair pillow once they are done!
